Olbermann, the former MSNBC host who made his name lambasting from the left, is set to take center stage on Al Gore’s Current TV cable network tonight at the 8 p.m. slot with “Countdown with Keith Olbermann.”

The move is a risky one, experts said.

“This could be a one-way ticket to obscurity,” said communications expert TJ Walker. “It’s going to be a long, hard slog to the point where he can have any audience.”

  1. I thought the same thing at first and then as I was scanning for news last night I saw Olbermann’s name jump out at me and realized that Current TV (which I have never watched!) is smack dab in the middle of the news channel section on Direct TV. His exposure in that news channel location is 100 times better than is some other non-news block of channels. As Albert M. Greenfield said about real estate, “It’s location, location, location!”
