Honda is winning the battle of the pre-Super Bowl commercial buzz by releasing its new commercial starring Matthew Broderick as Ferris Bueller.
By releasing this commercial early, and by having released a 10 second teaser before, Honda is cornering the market on word of mouth buzz.
The danger of doing this, if there is any, would be if the sense of surprise is lost on the audience who has already seen the spot multiple times online.
The game on the field will probably be up for grabs in the 4th quarter but I find it hard to believe that there will be a better commercial, or more talked about commercial, than Honda’s.
