Media Training Worldwide Opens Office in India
Bombay: Leading American media and presentation training company Media Training Worldwide announced the launch of its services in India, to meet the growing needs of business executives in the country.
TJ Walker, president of the New York-based Media Training Worldwide, said, “with one over 250 million people, a large English speaking business segment, and a booming economy, the time is right for a first class media and presentation training center in India.” Walker pointed to several critical factors in deciding to open a media training facility in Bombay, including the successful launch of CNBC India, NDTV, Star TV and a host of business channels that are in the pipeline, the presence of 300 of the Fortune 500 companies now within India, and the general reorientation of India to a market economy.
Walker added, “The number one skill which the leaders of any public or private company need, is the ability to communicate clearly and memorably -- to the media, analysts, investors, customers, clients and employees. That’s what Media Training Worldwide does: help executives excel in speaking to any audience with confidence and command.”
Media Training Worldwide launched its services in Delhi and Mumbai, with inaugural workshops at a leading FII firm and the country’s leading travel services, Thomas Cook India Ltd.
Mr. Ashwini Kakkar, Managing Director and CEO of Thomas Cook India Ltd., and the President of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry said “This is a great opportunity for the vast majority of Indian professionals to acquire skills to balance substance and style.” “Even leading business schools do not offer such expertise, and I think the entry of Media Training Worldwide, with their unique modules and critique techniques, provides the necessary fillip especially in dealing with the media and in presentation skills”, he added.
Heading up the new office in Mumbai, is Ravi Shyam, a strategic communications consultant. Ravi was previously Head of Corporate Communications for Bayer and Philips.
“We are pleased to have a partner of Ravi’s caliber come on board as our Director, to spearhead our efforts in serving the discerning Indian professionals. Ravi has worked as an independent consultant for over 15 years, with India based Fortune 500 companies and traditional family owned groups. His grasp of the nuances of the corporate sector in India and the Indian media will provide us a cutting edge. He has been trained in the most advanced methods of media coaching at our studios in New York”, Mr. Walker said.
Mr. T.J. Walker’s keynote address titled ‘The One Responsibility Great CEO’s Never Delegate’ to the members of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), was a resounding success with overwhelming response, reminding corporate India, this is an indispensable skill, worth honing in today’s communication driven world.
