Speaking/Presentation Tips
1. Write your own brief introduction. Present only information about yourself that is of interest to the audience and relevant to why you were asked to speak. (no sense in being boring before you begin)
2. Ask the person introducing you to ask the audience to turn off their cell phones.
3. It is highly effective to use people in your audience as examples and to mention them by name-as long as you mention them in a positive light.
4. If you type out your notes, make sure the letters are large.
5. Don't use all caps-it is easier on the eye to have the variation of upper and lower case.
TV/Media Tips
6. When doing satellite interviews, you must consciously move your head in order to look natural and relaxed (nervous people freeze their heads, so they look scared).
7. During satellite interviews, don't forget to blink.
8. Make sure your earpiece fits properly and doesn't pop out-before the interview begins.
9. Don't react to the energy level of your host. Focus on the energy level you want and planned.
10. If you are attacked, then smile in return.
