Super Bowl Commercials Preview

Honda is winning the battle of the pre-Super Bowl commercial buzz by releasing its new commercial starring Matthew Broderick as Ferris Bueller.

By releasing this commercial early, and by having released a 10 second teaser before, Honda is cornering the market on word of mouth buzz.

The danger of doing this, if there is any, would be if the sense of surprise is lost on the audience who has already seen the spot multiple times online.

So I ask them “so what you really want is to be able to communicate with a large audience through the media and to build your own fans, clients and customers, right?”

“Yes,” they admit.

While the intent in both situations is similar, the differences in reaching a goal like being on Oprah versus reaching millions though the media are quite different.

OK, enough dodging, so how do you get on Oprah? Continue reading
